A landlord residing at Ijeun Titun in Abeokuta South Local Government area of Ogun State has dragged a Staff of Environmental department of Abeokuta South local government before the ppublic complainant commission over alleged illegal detention of his Children.
The Landlord, Mr Ogunsola Musiliu, who resides at No 23 Araromi CDA, in Ijeun Titun Abeokuta had alleged one Mrs. Foluke Oladiran from Abeokuta South local government, Abeokuta and her team of environmental health officers of unlawful detention of his children following the accusations that the septic tank in his house has filled up.
“I wish to state that on 24th of March, 2025 at about 11:00am, a team of Environment Health Officer stormed my residence at the above-mentioned address at Ijeun-Titun alleging that my house septic tank has filled up.
“I appealed for some time to do the evacuation, telling them that I am a Police Officer on a far duty post, but just came home for a medical check-up.
In spite of the pleadings, they insisted on locking the house up, telling me to immediately vacate the house and padlock the same.
“The situation led to an argument as I told them that there must be a privilege to evacuate the septic tank within a time frame, and failure to do that, they can then do the needful.
Rather for them to see reasons, they went ahead and locked my Children in the house and all entreaties from the people fell on their deaf ears.
“They locked two of my children inside the house since 11:50am, 24/03/2025 and were only released on the second day of 25/03/2025 after issuance of their notice.
I reported the matter before the officials of the local government and in spite of their interventions, the house was unlocked.
All efforts by Our Correspondent to get reactions from the officials of the local government proves abortive as calls put across to the Local government information Officer was not answered.
