Ngwuta Chinedu, Abakaliki
The people of Ikwo LGA of Ebonyi state recently organized a one day interdenominational thanksgiving service to appreciate God for all the good things he has been doing for the people of the LGA, mostly in the area of political participation since 1999.
The interdenominational thanksgiving service held at the Council headquarters Onuebonyi Echara was presided over by Dr. Uma Ukpai.
The organizers of the program said the people deemed it necessary to invite the God’s Servant Evangelist Uma Ukpai for the thanksgiving service to appreciate God for not just answered prayers but also for giving them voice politically and the rare privileges to have served in all exalted positions in the state within the period under review.
In his good will message, the Governor of Ebonyi state, Francis Nwifuru who was represented by the Speaker of the Ebonyi state House of Assembly, Moses Ije-odunwa said prayers are the only key to unlocking closed destinies and its workings can’t be over emphasized adding no man who anchors his hope in God is put to shame.
He noted that the Governor who is an in-law to Ikwo clan would have loved to be in the program but was unavoidable absent due to busy schedules. He however, admonished the people of the clan to prioritize love, hence it was the only way the people can attract more God’s favor on all fronts.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Ikwo Council, Barr. Sunday Nwankwo informed, seven years from the time of the last visit of the God’s servant, the people have served as the Governor of the state in the person of Martin Elechi, Deputy Governor of the state in the person of Barr. Kelechi Igwe, the current speaker of the state House of Assembly in the person of Moses Ije-odunwa and the current member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency in the House of Representative.
According to the Chairman, the people have benefited a lot as a result of the outcome of the year 2000 interdenominational prayers which were held at the LGA, as such it is the time to thank God for the ones he has done and the ones he is yet to do.
Rev. Uma Ukpai who drew his messages from the book of Luke chapter 24:49 and Mark chapter 16, 17, 18 and 19 told the people to always believe in the efficiency of God adding he has answers to all our problems no matter how difficult it may look before the eye of an ordinary man.
He revealed that the Ikwo people were the only Igbo Community that has shown gratitude to God for what he has done to them as a clan and as an individual, adding God only requires gratitude for whatever things he did to people.
He cited examples of what God has used him to attract for his people, even outside political space noting God does not care about what you do in life but about your destiny.
The event recorded the presence of Creme de la creme in Ikwo LGA: Member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Chinedu Oga, Speaker of the Ebonyi state House of Assembly Moses Ije-odunwa, first class Traditional Rulers, Captain of Industries, among other dignitaries too numerous to mention.
