It was learnt that the victim had gone to the river to swim with a friend who eventually raised an alarm in the community when he could not be found and who suspected he could have drowned.

Reports said natives searched the river for the missing teenager but could not find him. His lifeless body was, however, found hours after, floating on the river and was retrieved.

It was learnt that the deceased could swim very well and that it was not his first time out with his friends in the river.
