A 17-year-old female student has attempted su!cide after she was repeatedly bull!ed and assaulted at a high school in Ethekweni – Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.
The victim slit her wrists and overdosed on medication on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called to the home (details withheld) and found the teenage girl in a critical condition. She was rapidly transported to a local hospital.
When interviewed, her mother informed Reaction Officers that her Grade 11 daughter was being bullied and nothing had been done to the perpetrators.
One of the assaults was recorded on a phone and had gone viral in 2024. She added that the group of bull!es can be seen on a video harr@ssing her daughter. yet no disciplinary measures were taken against them.
The mother had returned from work on Thursday afternoon and forced open the door to find her daughter unconscious on the kitchen floor.
The mother further informed the officers that the bullying could not be controlled and her daughter opted to end her life.
