The Conference of United Political Parties (CUPP) has issued a stark warning regarding the escalating crisis within the Articulate Motorcycle Owners And Riders Association of Ogun State (AMORAN), urging swift intervention from Governor Dapo Abiodun to prevent potential violence and economic instability in the state.

Speaking at a press conference held in Abeokuta on Tuesday, the state Chairman of the CUPP, Femi Soluade highlighted serious concerns stemming from allegations of forgery leveled against AMORAN’s leadership.

He said the controversy revolves around disputed claims involving the resignation and purported signature forgery against Otunba Taofeek Shokoya Danku.

Danku was said to have forged the signature of Chairman Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle.

Soluade in the speech titled “A Call On Governor Dapo Abiodun To Wade Into A MORAN Forgery Leadership Tussles” said invited the Economy Financial Crime Commission (EFCC),the Department of State Services (DSS), the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to prevent the looming violence in the state.

He said “one may be wondering what is the concern of CUPP with Union matters, but let’s make it clear that anything that may jeopardize the peace of Ogun State, and which may eventually send away investors should be a serious concern of every well meaning individuals, no matter the political affiliations one finds itself

“Of recent, the Articulate Motorcycle Owners And Riders Association of Ogun State (AMORAN) is enmeshed in an avoidable leadership crisis following allegations of ‘resignation’, and signature forgery between Otunba Taofeek Shokoya Danku who the Chairman Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle alleged forged his Signature on a resignation letter

“While we are not particularly concerned with the internal issues of any Association or Union, Our concern is the resultant effects of the imbroglio in the AMORAN over the Chairmanship tussle.”

He emphasized that issues capable of disrupting the state’s peace could potentially drive away investors, posing significant threats to public safety and confidence in governance.

Expressing fears of possible escalation into violence, CUPP chairman who was flanked by other members of the group, cited reports indicating efforts to involve cultists and other disruptive elements in the crisis.

He called upon Governor Abiodun to urgently convene a roundtable meeting involving critical stakeholders such as the Department of State Services (DSS), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Nigerian Police Force.

He said the objective is to resolve the leadership crisis diplomatically and forestall any potential breakdown of law and order.

“While we are not particularly concerned with the internal issues of any Association or Union, Our concern is the resultant effects of the imbroglio in the AMORAN over the Chairmanship tussle

“We therefore called on the Ogun State government, the DSS, EFCC, Nigerian Police and other security agencies to look into the issue of forgery allegations and call those masterminds of this nefarious activity to order before they unleash mayhem capable of throwing the State into crisis

“On Our part, we are bringing this issue to the public to avoid showdown as we have on good authority that a faction is making efforts to recruit Cultists and other undesirable elements to cause havoc and unleash mayhem on the State.

“We believe our governor in control of security apparatus is capable of curtailing the evil plans of these undesirable elements, but “A stitch in Time Saves Nine” Immediate action is required in this matter

He stressed the necessity of preemptive measures to safeguard the stability and prosperity of Ogun State
