Ahead of his inauguration, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has pledged to expand the state’s tourism and investment opportunities, stating that investors are already showing interest.

Speaking over the weekend at Araromi Seaside in Ilaje Local Government Area, where he led a team of top government officials and dignitaries, Aiyedatiwa emphasized his administration’s commitment to showcasing the region’s vast economic potential.

“This visit is about showcasing what Ondo State has to offer. We want investors, both local and international, to see the untapped opportunities in Araromi and other parts of the state,” he said.

“Our coastline, infrastructure projects, and strategic partnerships all point to a bright future for tourism, trade, and economic expansion. Ondo State is open for business, and we are ready to collaborate with stakeholders to transform our natural assets into thriving economic hubs that will create jobs, boost revenue, and improve the quality of life for our people.”

Aiyedatiwa highlighted the strategic location of Araromi, noting that it is just a 45-minute journey from Lagos. He said that the ongoing development of the coastal highway would further enhance accessibility and boost tourism in the area.

The governor also revealed that discussions are ongoing with La Campagne Tropicana and other investors, assuring that partnerships will materialize in the coming months. He added that the availability of boats would make access to the region seamless, fostering job creation and economic growth.

Speaking during an interactive session with journalists, themed “Unlocking Investment Opportunities Around the Sea,” Aiyedatiwa assured that his administration’s OUR EASE agenda is designed to drive holistic development across all sectors of the economy.

Regarding the delayed deep-sea port project, which had received licensing approval from former President Muhammadu Buhari, Aiyedatiwa explained that an error in the initial approval process required a restart. However, he assured that progress is being made and that he has engaged international investors to ensure the Ondo State Deep Sea Port becomes a reality.

On infrastructure, the governor reiterated his commitment to road construction and maintenance across all 18 local government areas. He assured residents that new roads and bridges would be built to improve connectivity and enhance economic activities.

For education, Aiyedatiwa announced that employment letters for newly recruited teachers would be issued after his inauguration. He clarified that teachers would be posted based on their areas of residence to ensure even manpower distribution and prevent rural-urban migration.

The governor also disclosed that contracts have been awarded for the construction of primary healthcare facilities in all 203 wards across the state. Additionally, he announced that the ongoing Oda road project in Akure would be commissioned next month.

Earlier, Oba Adeoloye Olawole, the Alara of Araromi Kingdom, expressed appreciation to the governor for approving two intra-town road projects in the area.

“Araromi Seaside Kingdom is not just a settlement; it is an economic hub waiting to be fully explored. We are a peaceful, progressive people who value development, education, and collaboration with the state to foster economic growth,” Oba Olawole said.
