The maiden edition of the Light Vision Global (LVG) Inter Church Competition 2025 kicked off in style on February 8, 2025, at the Odogbo Barracks Stadium in Ojoo, Ibadan, Oyo State. The knockout stage saw 16 teams battle it out for a spot in the next round, with eight teams emerging victorious.
In the first match of the day, Living Faith Church Aba-Eja secured a convincing 3-0 win over RCCG Holy Ghost Arena. The second game saw CCC Rehoboth Cathedral thrash Harvest House Christian Centre 6-0, showcasing their dominance on the field.
RCCG Jesus House also emerged victorious, defeating C&S Church 2-0. Meanwhile, CCC Rainbow Cathedral edged out RCCG Life Gate Assembly Awojuoluwa 4-2 in a penalty shootout, after the match ended 1-1.
C.A.C Araromi Olorunsogo also progressed to the next round, winning 4-3 against RCCG Oyo Province 16 in a penalty shootout, following a goalless draw. Rhema Chapel Akobo suffered a 0-2 loss to CSMC Liberty Youth FC, while RCCG Pentecost Zone secured a narrow 1-0 win over Rhema Chapel Bodija.
In the final match of the knockout stage, El-Shaddai Baptist Church defeated Gilgal Baptist Association 3-1.
Before the matches, the organizers ensured that all participating teams underwent thorough medical check-ups, prioritizing the health and safety of the players.
With the knockout stage concluded, the competition is heating up, and the organizers are calling on fans to come out and support their favorite teams in the next round.
