Eniola Bolaji, who previously earned a bronze medal at the Paralympic Games, delivered a masterful performance in the final, defeating Sweden’s Hillevi Salomonsson in straight sets (21-1, 21-2).

Speaking on Bolaji’s remarkable success, the Director General, NSC, lauded her for not only bringing glory to Nigeria but also for inspiring millions of Nigerians with her resilience, determination, and excellence. “

Bolaji’s achievement is a testament to the power of hard work, discipline, and dedication. She has proven once again that Nigerian athletes can compete and triumph on the global stage,” the DG stated.

The Director General also commended the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN), under the leadership of Francis Orbih, for their tireless efforts in developing and promoting the sport in the country.

“This achievement is not just about the athlete but also a reflection of the excellent work being done by the Badminton Federation of Nigeria. Under Francis Orbih’s leadership, the BFN has continued to nurture talent and create opportunities for Nigerian players to shine globally. I congratulate the entire federation on this monumental success,” the DG added.

Her dominant display throughout the tournament, which included victories over Shahinda Mohamed (21-7, 21-2), Basma Nabil-Fawzy (21-6, 21-4), and Elizabeth Puma (21-2, 21-4), reaffirms her status as one of the world’s premier Para Badminton athletes.

According to the Badminton World Federation, Bolaji has participated in 10 international championships over the past two years, winning all of them—a feat that underscores her exceptional talent and consistency.
