Muhuyi Rimingado, chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), will be quizzed by the police at their headquarters in Abuja on Monday.

Rimingado was initially arrested by the police in Kano on Friday, but was later granted bail on self-recognition, an official in the state government told Newsmen on Saturday.

“He was arrested by police officers from zone one Kano and granted bail on personal recognition,” the official said.

“He has been directed to submit himself to the force headquarters in Abuja on Monday.”

The reasons behind Rimingado’s arrest remain unclear, though reports suggest it may be connected to an ongoing trial of Bala Muhammad Inuwa, a former managing director of the Kano Agricultural Supply Company Limited (KASCO).

In 2023, the Kano anti-graft chair attempted to probe Abdullahi Ganduje, a former governor of the state, over a video clip that showed him allegedly receiving kickbacks in dollars from a contractor.

However, shortly after, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) launched investigations into Rimingado over alleged corruption.

A high court in Kano would later issue an order preventing them from proceeding with the probe
