An opinion leader and the Convener, Ogun West Initiative, OWI, Mr. Bolaji Adeniji, made the assertion while addressing the media at Ilaro on the side-lines of an event put together to inaugurate projects facilitated by the senator in Yewa South Local Government on Wednesday.

In his words, “The significance of the numerous projects done by our senator is the gap being closed by the day. No doubt, Ogun West is lagging behind when compared to our brothers in Ogun Central and East. When you drive around out towns and communities, you see a palpable deprivations and dearth of development despite the potentials of the area”.

“While we see the effort of the state government, it is nonetheless inadequate when compared with what is obtainable in Ijebu, Remo and Egba communities. But the story is gradually changing with the humongous intervention of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola. Through his efforts, many abandoned communities now have decent healthcare facilities, school classrooms, rural markets, solar lights, potable water; while many of our township roads are being connected via new constructions and renovations”.

Adeniji stated that the negative image of Ogun West is being erased and a new song of progress and development is being sung.

According to him, “Our district is becoming a reference point in terms of people feeling the dividends of democracy. While we are yet to get executive power, we already having a foretaste of what can happen to us from our own. Even in terms of socioeconomic empowerment, the many grants, scholarships, entrepreneurial trainings and SME support embarked on by the Senator has turned around Ogun West and there is a fresh lease of life for the people”.

“We just have to commend Senator Adeola for his dedication and passion at all of these. Indeed, the gap is being closed and Yewa-Awori land is witnessing a paradigm shift. Our hope is that by 2027 Ogun West will build on this momentum to get the ultimate political ascendancy we so deserve”. He added.
