La Planet Sport Academia’s sensation, Muhammed Abdullahi has won the Taiwo Awoniyi Highest goalscorer award of the inaugural season of Pro Route League.

The young and promising striker scored a total number of 11 goals in 10 games to beat other contenders to the coveted award and was presented with the plaque on Sunday at the well attended final match day of the league.
Pacy and clinical, Abdullahi’s exceptional talent and skills, shone brightly throughout the course of the league, scoring important goals to propel his team to a fourth place finish on the final league table.
“I am very happy for the award. I dedicate the award to all my coaches and teammates. I promise to continue to score more goals and help my team achieve success, ” and elated Muhammed said.
Muhammed scored his highest goal tally in the week 12 game against City Boys FC, netting four goals in his team’s 7-0 win. His impressive performance also saw him notched hat-trick in week 8 games against Skillz FC.
The Head Coach of La Planet Sport Academia, Coach Sheriff Jimoh described Muhammed’s performance as a great one and tipped him for a great future.
“He’s an exceptional talent and a team player. This achievement is very good for him, and I believe the award will spur him to do more,” he said.
The highest goalscorer award of the Pro Route League is named after Nottingham Forest and Super Eagles of Nigeria Striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, who is widely regarded as a role model to young and source of inspiration aspiring footballers.
