The Zonal Commander, Mohammed Barde, revealed that among the 253 victims, 163 were minors aged 0-17 years, including 105 females and 58 males, while the other 90 consisted adult men and women.

“Besides rescuing victims, the command obtained nine convictions for different offenses in 2024.”

“The victims received legal and medical assistance, rehabilitation, and reintegration services.”

“Efforts for family tracing and reunification were conducted, and certain victims were supported in reconstructing their lives,” Barde mentioned.

He mentioned that the agency was also involved in preventive actions such as comprehensive awareness campaigns in markets, schools, communities, and bus terminals.

He remarked that the campaigns were intended to increase awareness about the perils of human trafficking and various other forms of exploitation.
