The Ogun West Initiative has described as unprecedented, the projects being facilitated by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, across the length and breadth of Ogun West senatorial district.
OWI is a sociopolitical pressure group fighting for the development of the Yewa-Awori division of Ogun State.
The convener of the group. Mr. Bolaji Adeniji, spoke with journalists during the 2-days commissioning of developmental projects facilitated by Senator Adeola in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of the senatorial district.
The OWI convener praised the volume and spread of the projects, saying the district has never witnessed the sheer size of the interventions.
He said, “What we are witnessing today is clear testament to the mantra of servant leadership, where a public office holder is delivering the dividends of democracy in an unprecedented fashion”.
“It is one thing to be elected to office and another thing to deliver on the mandate. Senator YAYI is delivering on the mandate he was given and keeping faith with the covenant he made with Ogun Westerners during the electioneering period”.
Adeniji stated further, “We are intrigued with this phenomenon which in our group, we described as the audacity of effort. Just in one local government area, we are commissioning 23 landmark projects that include several completed roads, primary healthcare facilities, blocks of classrooms, town halls, several markets and lots more. The same effort has been replicated in other local government”.
The group while thanking Senator Adeola, called on all stakeholders in Ogun West senatorial district to rally round the legislator so that he can be encouraged to do more for his people.
“We hereby call on our people irrespective of political, ethnic or social affiliation to give total support to YAYI to continue in this giant stride. No doubt, his intervention in provision of infrastructure and economic empowerment will ultimately stimulate growth and development of Ogun West and that is our own objective “.
