The reward for excellence will kick off with the opening eight matches across the country starting from January 15, 2025.

According to the CEO of First Mahi Investments, Prince Chidebere Onuoha Eze, “the reward is to advance the NWFL Premiership and women football in the country by encouraging women footballers.”

In a chat with the media recently in Lagos,Prince Chidebere emphasised the need for the weekly reward.

“This is to encourage these young female footballers, because I understand anytime you give awards to these footballers they want to do better” he noted.

Chidebere spoke further on the need for all efforts to be on deck to ensure the NWFL grows and becomes better; as one of the reasons he is partnering with the organisers of the Naija Women Football Awards.

Chidebere said : “I want to be a part of the people that will change a lot of things in the NWFL league, I have been doing that for the last four years and I just want to do more.”

“We are going to make the NWFL to be one of the best leagues in the league if we all come out with our ideas.” Chidebere stressed.

He noted that “This year’s Awards will accommodate more categories as we are working on various areas to advance technicalities and fairness in the selection.”

“This Partnership with Prince Onuoha Chidiebere Eze, the CEO of First Mahi Investments to reward the most valuable player in the NWFL Premiership every week will be presented with a trophy and cash for their effort is a plus” Abolore concluded.

The 2024 Awards Gala was hosted Gala in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State where Coach Aduku Moses and Essien Emem emerged as the Coach and Player of The Season respectively.

The NWFAwards began in 2018 as a platform to recognise and reward the best player and coach of the month as well as Team of the Week in the NWFL Premiership.
