The federal capital territory (FCT) police command has denied knowledge of the alleged theft of N180 million from VeryDarkMan‘s non-governmental organization (NGO) account.

The controversial activist recently lamented that his NGO website “was hacked, resulting in the theft of the substantial amount”.

He revealed that he was accompanied by a police officer to Jos, Plateau state capital, to track down the suspects.

He also revealed that one of the alleged culprits had been arrested.

“I will be honest with you guys, for the past few days I have not been myself. I am with officer Joe and we are going to Jos. The NGO money… somebody hacked into the NGO website, I do not how they did it and N180 million is missing,” he said on Friday.

But speaking with PUNCH, Josephine Adeh, the police spokesperson in the FCT, said the command has no record of such case and is not conducting any investigation.

“The FCT Police Command is not aware of any case involving VDM’s missing funds and is not conducting any investigation into it,” she said.

“The individual in question should be contacted to clarify where the matter was reported, as there is no record of such a case with the FCT Police Command.”

Similarly, the Plateau state police command also denied receiving any report of the incident.

In a chat with TheCable Lifestyle, Alfred Alabo, the command PRO, added that they lack the jurisdiction to conduct an investigation on the matter.
