Ibadan Stampede: Don’t Use The Ugly Incident To Score Cheap Political Points – Prince Adeleke Warns

Prince. Taofeek Adeyemi Adeleke of Emiolu rulling house of Iresa Adu Kingdom of Surulere LGA in Oyo state has commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde, Oyo state residents and the families of the victims in particular and the organizer Ex Queen Ms. Naomi Silekunolami Ogunseye, over the sad event that occured during the Ex-Queen Ms. Naomi Silekunolami Ogunseye children funfair in Ibadan.

The Prince, prayed that God will give the family the fortitude and succour to bear the irreplaceable losses. While also prayed for peace, tranquility and progress in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

The Prince, however, frowned and condemned the inhumane and unguarded utterances of some politicians that who tried to use the sad event to score cheap baseless political points.

The Prince said, stampede can occur at any event, the noble thing for any reasonable person and leader seeking for political office to do, is to show empathy, by commiserating with the affected families and state. Not to leverage on it as campaign avenue to discredit the government in power.

Prince Taofeek Adeyemi Adeleke, stressed that both the State and Federal governments are not in anyway directly or indirectly responsible or liable for the stampede. Since they are both not the organizers of the event nor the one that asked the people not to be orderly and patient at such event that led to the unfortunate stampede.


He wondered how any politician could descend so low as to use the tragedy as an venue to score baseless cheap political points!

The Prince therefore, appealed to every residents of the state to remain calm, peaceful law-abiding and be in orderliness during this season.


He urged the Oyo state residents to take safety precautions as their top priority, to avert future occurrence.

Prince. Taofeek Adeyemi Adeleke, called on all the religious leaders and traditionalists in the state to ensure they do everything humanly possible to ensure there is peace and progress in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
