Boxing runs in my family, two of my elder brothers are to level boxers that also went to the Olympics.
Bayelsa is my State of origin. Moreover, boxing is dead in the South-South region of Nigeria, a region that has produced most notable names in boxing.
My major challenge in setting up the tournament is that there is Lack of government support from local to state level. Despite numerous letters to the government to fully or partially sponsor the championship. At the last minute, they withdrew, stating no money . Lack of private or corporate support, however, a few hotels like Da Crib hotel offered discounted rooms, while Matho Crystal Hotel and Golden Tulip Hotel offered 2 free rooms each.
