A couple has narrowly escaped death in Ogbomoso, Oyo State after a container being carried by an articulated vehicle fell on their car.
The incident occurred Thursday afternoon, DAILY POST reports.
The container fell from the articulated vehicle with registration number Nasarawa JZ 101 ZA on their car with the number place bearing Lagos at Ogbomoso High School area.
Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred a few minutes after the couple parked the car to buy some items.
The trailer was coming from the direction of Oyo and tried to avoid a head-on collision with a bus going towards the opposite direction whose driver was busy using his mobile phone and so lost concentration.
An eyewitness described the incident as a narrow escape.
“It was a narrow escape. The couple just parked their car and got down to buy some items at the side of the metal scrap yard. That is when the trailer had its large container fall on the car. Thank God no other person was in the car”.
Our correspondent gathered that the car was still trapped under the container at the time of filing this report on Thursday.
