The 2024/2025 Kebbi Beach Soccer League (KBSL) commenced with three games in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
The most consistent state beach soccer league in Nigeria kicked off with BAM Project Beach Soccer Club (BSC) edging national league side, Kebbi United BSC 6-5 in a stunning fashion.
Peter Monday Joseph who was the immediate former captain of Kebbi United scored a hattrick alongside Nazifi Sani, and Mani Master’s lone goal lifted BAM Project BSC to a surprising win.
Two goals each from Umar Sadik and Hamza Bagudu and a strike by Ibrahim Malami were not enough to prevent defending champions, Kebbi United BSC from an opening matchday loss.
The second match of the opening matchday saw BBE BSC securing a 3-0 win against Mayanan Bagudo BSC.
The last encounter witnessed Magatakarda BSC recording a huge 12-3 win over Dallatu Kalgo United BSC.
Hot sensation and three time national league champion, Hassan Muhammad scored a whooping six goals to lift Magatakarda BSC to a huge win.
Abdulaziz Manu added three goals while Darda’i Aliyu converted two with Salisu Sale completing the rout.
2022/2023 Season’s top Scorer and rising star in Ila Yaro alongside Abdulaziz Aliyu, and Usama Abubakar scored for Dallatu United BSC.
The 2024/2025 Kebbi Beach Soccer League is the fifth edition of the league, which is having an impact on the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL).
Two teams from Kebbi State, Kebbi Fishers BSC and Kebbi United BSC, participated in the 2023 and 2024 seasons of the NBSL.
Kebbi Fishers has won three of the four editions of the NBSL showing the growth and importance of the Kebbi Beach Soccer League in talent discovery.
Matchday two continues today with BAM Project BSC versus BBE BSC (7am), Magatakarda against Mayanan Bagudo (4pm) and Kebbi Utd versus Dallatu United (5pm).
