Two Hundred youths from Ebonyi State have graduated from the 2024 Innovative and Integrated Agricultural Value chains Agribusiness Training at CSS Global Integrated Farms, Gora , Nassarawa State.
The training which was at the instance of Ebonyi State Government is part efforts to boost food security and Youth Development.
This was contained in a press release signed Dr. Monday Uzor, Chief Press Secretary to Governor, noted that the youths comprising 171 ward Councillors and 29 others were trained in the areas of Poultry, Fishery, Rice production among others.
Addressing the participants at Gora, Nassarawa State, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State noted that the vision of the State Government is to encourage the participants to engage in large scale farming to enhance their well-being .
” You should put aside the toga of a Councillor and engage in farming to complement your salaries and allowances. That you are an University graduate for instance , is not a guarantee that you will not engage in farming. Therefore you should use this opportunity to move from growth and progress to achieve success “
The Governor who observed that the training has equipped them with operational skills to establish their own, promised that Government will offer necessary assistance to them to put into practice the knowledge they acquired, adding that they will be effectively monitored.
“The Leadership Development skills you got from here will give you the ability to differentiate between politics, business and self development”.
He commended the Chairman of the CSS Global Integrated Farms, Prof. John Kennedy Opara and his management team for offering best trainings to the participants.
