Alhaja Kelani Opeyemi Rafiat in a petition written on her behalf by her Counsel, Benjamin Ogunmodede and Co urged the State electoral umpire to disregard the names of Hon Segun Kuyoro as the Councillorship Candidate of APC for Alagbagba ward because he was not the winner of the primary held on 2nd September 2024.

In the petition which was also copied to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly and the Chairman of APC in Odeda Local Government, stated that, “on 2nd September, 2024, an election was held to produce a candidate for the position of Councillor in Alagbagba ward and our Client emerged as the successful candidate with six (6) votes out of Nine (9) votes.

“To our Client’s utmost shock, our Client’s name was removed and replaced with the name of one Hon. Segun Kuyoro which is an attempt to subvert the will of the people.

“We understand that on the ratification day which was held on the 21st day of September, 2024, the said Hon. Segun Kuyoro for Alagbagba ward. did not show up at all and our Client was also declared as the councillorship candidate of APC for Alagbagba ward.

“Our Client informed us that well-meaning members of Alagbagba ward reported the matter to the State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Yemi Sanusi at Abeokuta during their visit to him but the issue was not addressed.

“Members of Alagbagba ward also reported the matter to another party leader in person of Pa Michael Fajimi but all he said was that he was one of those that removed.our Client’s name because the said Hon. Kuyoro’s father is his friend.

“Our Client further informed us that on the 2nd day of October, 2024, members of Alagbagba ward staged a protest at the APC Secretariat lyana-Mortuary, Abeokuta where they were appealing to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON and the great leaders of the APC to restore the mandate stolen from our Client.

“However, since the said protest, nothing has been done to restore the said mandate.

“We have the instruction of our Client to request that you do not recognize the candidacy of Hon. Segun Kuyoro for the position of Councillor for Alagbagba ward in Odeda Local Government of Ogun State as our Client and not Hon. Segun Kuyoro won the election.
