In a statement signed by Dr. Monday Uzor, Chief press secretary to Governor, noted that the committee was
Inaugurated at the State Executive Council Chamber, by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, who explained that the committee comprised people with proven integrity that will carefully select those who will be honoured by the state.

The Governor charged the Committee to carry out the assignment without baise by ensuring that only those who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the State and the society will be nominated for the honours.
” We are in a society where everybody is scrambling for recognition even when they have not made meaningful contributions, so your Job is very tasking to select few out of many who may be jostling for the honour”

The Governor gave an assurance that Government will not interfere with the process, urging the committee to carry out the assignment with zeal and dedication
” You should not only base your assessment on those in authority or politicians, except those who have distinguished themselves in the service of the State. It will also be good if the contributions of our founding fathers are taken into considerations”
