Fola David, the Nigerian doctor, is aiming to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the largest drawing by an individual.

David, who is also a visual artist, announced that the attempt will commence on July 16 in a flier posted via Instagram.

The six-day drawing marathon will be held at Onikan Stadium, Lagos.

In the post, David said the drawing — titled ‘Unity in Diversity’ — will be a Nigeria map showcasing her diverse cultures.

He also said he aims to preach “love and peace” through the drawing.

“Truly life has been a movie! I have been on a journey with road to record across the multicultural landscape of Nigeria to bring you an experience,” he wrote.

“From the 16th to the 21st of July, I will be at the Onikan Stadium creating the largest drawing in the world by an individual.

“This drawing will be a map of Nigeria showing its cultures and will be made to incorporate the hearts and of it’s people.

“The title of the drawing is ‘Unity in Diversity’ and the message is love and peace which are vital components to our development as a nation.

“I won’t be doing this alone guys, this project is for us as a nation and I would require us all to make it happen.”

It remains to be seen if David got the approval of the GWR for the attempt.

The largest drawing by an individual is 629.98 m² (6781.04 ft²) and was achieved by Ravi Soni (India) in Rajasthan on November 30, 2021.
