NBA Ilaro Branch (Yewa Bar) Elects Kayode Samson, Others As New Executive Council Members

The Nigerian Bar Association, Ilaro (Yewa Bar) in Ogun State has elected a new executive council as a former Secretary of the Branch, Kayode, Samson as the new Chairman in a keenly contested election.

The election set the stage for a fresh leadership to steer the branch’s affairs for the next two years.


Held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Branch Secretariat, the election was lauded for its smooth and hitch-free process.


The outgoing Secretary, Mr. Seyi Enitan, along with other members of the Yewa Bar, expressed their satisfaction with the conduct of the election.


According to a release by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA), Ilaro Branch, Mrs. A.I. Mbuko, the following individuals were elected to their respective positions:


Other executive council members include ; Ibikunle-Adigun Doyinsola .C as Vice-Chairman, Lawal, Jibola Orisadare as Secretary, Shoyombo, Bukola as Welfare Officer, Samu, Stephen Terfa as Public Secretary, Olatunbosun, Elizabeth .O. as Provost and Lawal, Taiwo Falilat as Assistant Secretary.


In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, expressed his gratitude to the members for their confidence in the new executive council.

He assured them of his commitment to building on the achievements of the outgoing administration.


“We are poised to consolidate on the gains made by our predecessors and to introduce new initiatives that will further the interests of our members and the legal profession in Yewa,” Kayode stated.
The new Chairman, Samson O. Kayode Esq., graduated from Lagos State University.


He proceeded to the Enugu campus of the Nigerian law school after which he was called to Bar as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.


He served at the Oyo State Ministry of Justice before joining the law firm of Gbeke Laditan & Co., where he later became the Head of Chambers. He started his law firm S. O. Kayode & Associates years later where he presently heads as the Principal Associates.


He was elected and served as the Secretary of NBA, Ilaro Branch between 2020-2022.


He is presently a member of the Ogun State Bar and Bench Forum Committee.


Until his election, he is the Chairman, Continuing Legal Education and Annual Bar lecture Committee of the Branch.


He was in January, 2024 appointed by the Section on Public Interest and Development Law (SPIDEL) of the NBA as the Ogun State Coordinator.


He is a gentleman and a Bar man who is committed to the development of the Bar and the promotion of Rule of law.
