The president of Mercy Solution Foundation, Adetutu Anot Arikeade, made the plea while distributing foodstuffs and other items to about 250 widows and the aged at the Olowu palace, Owu, Abeokuta.

She noted that the economic situation in the country was really biting hard, saying that those in need must be assisted to make life meaningful for them.

“The widows, the aged and others with financial challenges must be assisted,” she submitted.

The president of Foundation disclosed that the Foundation has been doing charity work since it’s inception over 20 years ago.

According to her, the ongoing programmes would be extended to all parts of Ogun State and beyond.

She said the Foundation has been touching the lives of the down-trodden across the globe, including UK, USA, Liberia, Sierra Leone among others.

She disclosed that widows who have challenges of getting essential school materials have been provided items that would make their children study without tears.

At a similar ceremony at Ota, over 42 students were provided with the wherewithal to make their studies easy.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President of the Foundation, Apostle Oluwatoyin Sowumi, said the Foundation would not relent it its efforts in making impact on the lives of the widows, the aged and others in need.

She disclosed that several helpless and abandoned patients have been assisted in paying their hospital bills.

On how the Foundation is getting resources to implement its numerous activities, Apostle Sowumi stated that members, who belong to various professions, contribute in keeping the programme going smoothly.

She, however, said that individuals, organisations and others who are interested in assisting the Foundation are welcome.
