The programme which held at “Crescent Muslim Professionals’ Hall, Leme, Abeokuta”, was to acquaint the retiring officers on how to maximally enjoy life after public service.

Speaking at the event , the Chairman of the Commission, Ms. Olubukunola Olivia Onabanjo thanked the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, for his tremendous support and encouragement that the present Commission has been receiving from his administration.

Ms. Onabanjo said the present administration places high premium on staff development, welfare and determined to ensure that wellbeing of every worker, in and out of service remain the focus of the administration and on the front burner, too.

She said the training tagged “Life after Service” for retiring personnels in the Ogun State Local Government is timely and coming at the appropriate time, when retiring officers need to plan and be financially prepared for post-retirement life.

According to the Chairman, “Not preparing early for post-retirement life has been responsible for the hardship, stress and pressure experienced by many retirees and these hamper their post-retirement human capital impact, denying the society of their valuable contributions”.

Onabanjo further stated that “life after service could be an eventful experience if one is properly prepared from both personal and financial perspective”.

She then urged all the retiring officers to retire into comfort, be more attentive and participate actively in all the topics to be discussed at the training programme, saying that, “at the end of the day, you would have been better equipped for a good lifestyle after retirement”.
