…says Oba Adenugba reign has brought tremendous development to Ago Iwoye
Exactly two decades ago, Oba AbdulRasaq Adenugba ascended the throne as the Ebumawe of Ago Iwoye with a promise to rule in all fairness and uphold justice at all cost. Oba Adenugba has stoically kept his promise and earned the love and respect of his people.
To celebrate the decades of unparalleled favour and unprecedented development, the sons and daughters of Ago Iwoye , basking in euphoria of God’s kindness and upliftment, has lined up activities to celebrate the Kabiyesi and the people.
Dr Oluomo ‘Femi Bakre, the Chairman, 20th coronation anniversary planning committee of the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba AbdulRasaq Adenugba, on Thursday, said that the major reason for the celebration of Oba Abdul-Rasaq Adenugba’s 20 years on the throne is to thank the almighty God for his kindness over the years as well as appreciate the rapid upliftment and development of Ago-Iwoye since the royal father got to the throne.
While addressing the press at Ebumawe’s palace Ago Iwoye on Thursday, Oluomo said that there have been unprecedented improvement in commerce and commercial activities in the town of Ago-lwoye leading to impressive socio-economic development of the town since the installation of Oba Adenugba 20 years ago.
He said “it is my great pleasure to welcome you all to this press briefing in commemoration of the 20th Coronation Anniversary of our distinguished Royal Father, HRH Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, Ebumawe of Ago-lwoye.
“Twenty years after, the Kabiyesi, with the Grace of God and support of the people of Ago-lwoye, has continued to
enjoy a peaceful reign which has culminated in the progress and unprecedented development of the town.
“Oba Adenugba’s visionary leadership has brought unprecedented transformation and phenomenal growth to the town of Ago-lwoye since he ascended the throne both economically, socially, culturally, spiritually, physically amongst others.
“There is also cordial relationship between the town and the two universities located in the town (Olabisi Onabanjo University Community and Aletheia University Community)”.
Speaking on the social economic advancement of Ago Iwoye, the chairman said businesses are being established in the town on daily basis because of peaceful environment and ease of doing business deliberately promoted by the Ebumawe, Oba AbdulRasaq Adenugba.
“In Ago Iwoye of today, we have witnessed businesses which included the Quarry Sites, Private Schools, Filling Stations, Five Star Hotels, Event & Recreational Centers, establishment of government agencies in the town such as; Prison Services Farms, Federal Road Safety Corps Divisional Office, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps Divisional Office.
“Under Oba Adenugba’s reign, the Ago-lwoye five days market was upgraded to daily market. Rotary Club of Ago-lwoye was established and the Age Group Associations (Regberegbes) were resuscitated to boost social activities and foster the spirit of unity and communal development in the town.
“There is an improvement in commerce and commercial activities which has led to socio-economic development of the town.
“This event is a way of thanking Almighty God for His divine direction and mercy over our Kabiyesi in the task of ruling Ago-lwoye, as well as appreciating the people of the town, friends and well-wishers for their immeasurable support. Oba Adenugba has deemed if fit to roll out”.
Part of the programme for the celebration according to the Chairman, is the conferment of Chieftaincu titles on deserving sons and daughters of the town
