Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State after two weeks vacation in United State met with Journalists in Benue and revealed that Internally Displaced Persons in the State have started returning to their ancestral homes.
Governor Alia made the disclosure on Friday at the Banquet hall of Government house in Makurdi saying those internally Displaced Persons has started retuning to their ancestral homes for instance those from Guma loccal Government Council as well as Gwer West and Makurdi, where relative peace has returned to affected communities in different affected areas have since returned to their ancestral homes.
He explained that nine Northern Governors were invited at the instance of the department for security in United States on measures to stabilise insecurity in Northern Nigeria.
According to him, we held fruitful and nourishing discussions under the auspices of United States Government and some establishment and corroboration with our own establishment in Nigeria..
He posited that the 19 Northern Governors were invited at the instance of the United States Government looking for how best we can tackle insecurity in the region.
Talks was held between these department which deals security alongside the Northern Governors stressing we have reached far decisions pointing out is of immense benefit to each other.
While we were there deliberations we spoke about consciousness of awareness when you see suspicious movements alert us or law enforcement agents for prompt action “
