The special adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia for Bureau and Chieftaincy Affairs Dr Dennis Akura has asserted that various reforms are currently ongoing at the third tiers governance in the State.

The special adviser who spoke in audience with members of the Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of journalists Nuj yesterday in Makurdi, Benue State, disclosed part of the reforms includes payment of ganishee judgment which the government set aside huge amounts to repay those Indebted at least monthly.

The special adviser, who doubled as former Vandeikya local Government Council Chairman revealed the Taraku oil mills led by Barr Agba Injoh and others had obtained judgment from supreme Court in their favour for state government to effect their entitlement, including fringe benefits running several millions.

According to him, we’re paying them in peace meal of no fewer than eighty millions naira on monthly basis stressing it would take some time to complete their dues.

These action became necessary to curtailed constant judgment resulting to ganishee of various accounts of the councils.
