A widow Mrs Chinenye Okonkwo from Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area has forcefully been chased out from her husband’s property,

Mrs Chinenye Okonkwo, whose brother in law stripped her  of her late husband’s legacy, has attracted the interest of the commissioner for Women Affairs, Anambra State, Mrs Ify Obinabo.

While speaking to journalists yesterday at Oraifite on a fact-finding-visit, the Women Affairs Commissioner promised that the Anambra state government will see to it that the widow gets justice.

She emphasised that the state’s Violence Against Persons Act protects Mrs Chinenye Okonkwo and others in similar circumstances.

The commissioner was met by the president of Oraifite widows association, Mrs Ogechukwu izuka, and other widows.
