The incident which was confirmed by the Divisional Officer, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Adigun Daniel, occurred on Tuesday in Ode-Omu, Ayedaade local government area of the state.

It was gathered that the vehicle hit the said teacher of St. Michael Grammar School, Obada, Ode-Omu along Gbongan-Osogbo road leading to the victim’s death on the spot.

An eye witness, Laolu Adeola disclosed that the teacher after closing from school purchased cassava peel and was waiting to board a motorcycle to his Oogi-home when the incident happened.

While confirming the teacher’s death, Daniel disclosed further that the car’s driver ran away from the scene as the mob appeared uncontrollable.

“Effort to bring the situation under control was futile as it was at the market square. The mob, before anyone could move the vehicle, set it ablaze and it was burnt beyond recognition.
