The Onigbedu Traditional Council of Onigbedu in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State on Monday reacted to a news blog alleging the traditional ruler of Onigbedu, Oba Mathew Olajubu engaged some youths in the town in an open brawl.
In a statement signed by the Onigbedu Traditional Council, they denied the report saying that the report is an handiwork of mischief makers.
“The attention of his royal Majesty Oba Mathew Ajibulu has been drawn to a story in one of the blogs where it was reported that the royal Majesty was involved in an open brawl with youths of the town.
Ordinarily, it’s not in the culture of the monarch to be responding to such fake news as it was full of concorted lies and an handiwork of mischief makers.
We have profiled the writer of the story and found out that the said blogger, could be a willing tool in the hands of those that are bent in descreating the reverred traditional institution.
In Onigbedu town, we have only one traditional ruler who remain committed to the development of the town and will not in anyway tolerate any acts of hooliganism.
Kabiyesi is known to be a respected royal father in Ogun State and Nigeria in general and will not in anyway succumb to any act of blackmail.
While we have directed Our legal team to study the whole write up, we want to assure good indigenes and residents of Onigbedu town that Oba Mathew Ajibulu remain committed to the development of Onigbedu while also urging the people to remain calm and disregard the whole fake news.
