The foremost independent support group of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the last 2023 Presidential Election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Global Ambassadors (BATGA) has kicked against the appointment of Chief Bayo Onanuga as Special Assistant to President Tinubu

BATGA, who was one of the frontline groups that contributed immensely towards Mr President’s victory at the last Presidential Election in a Press Statement in Abuja called on Chief. Bayo Onanuga to reject the appointment

Salient Times report that on Friday, President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Bayo Onanuga as special adviser on information & strategy, and Delu Yakubu as senior special assistant on humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation.

Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, said the appointments were part of efforts to “prioritize effective and efficient working synergy between the Presidency and Federal Ministries”.

But reacting to the appointment,  in a statement signed by Olabode Kayode, National Coordinator,  Bola Ahmed Tinubu Global Ambassadors, BATGA asked Onanuga to reject the offer of a Special Assistant to Mr President on information and strategy “as it is below his personality, based on his wealth of experience in administrative and clean records, his 100% loyalty, commitment and contribution towards Mr President victory at the poll.

“The group said Chief. Bayo Onanuga is eminently qualified to be among the first top five ministers in Mr. President’s cabinet.

The group said, “It is a collective insult to those that supported Mr President’s presidential ambition through the trust they have in Chief. Bayo Onanuga with trust and hope that with Chief. Bayo Onanuga as a member of Mr. President’s cabinet will never be part of anti masses policies of Mr. President-led administration that have brought unbearable hardship to the Nigerian masses.

“The group condemned the appointment as insulting and ridiculous, that it is unacceptable as it has no say during the Federal Executive Council meeting. It is just a job for the boys to clean up the administration mess of wrong policies and hardship upon the masses.

The group insist that Chief. Bayo Onanuga should be considered for the ministerial appointment or head one of the sensitive government agencies if Mr President and the Aso Rock boys truly want him on board.

The group said anything short of the aforementioned was not acceptable to them.

The sole reason why the group supported the presidential election is to serve the collective interest of Nigerians not the interest of the few.
