The Plateau State Police Command has apprehended a 63-year-old man, John Mahana, for defiling two sisters, aged 4 and 8, at Mabel village, Batura Ward in Bokkos Local Government Areas of the state.

Salient Times report that Mahama was paraded at the Command’s Headquarters in Jos on Monday, September 4, 2023, alongside 25 other suspects arrested for crimes ranging from kidnapping, vandalism, rape and culpable homicide.

Briefing newsmen, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Okoro Julius Alawari, stated that one Lucky Luka of Mabel Village Butura Ward recently reported at the Bokkos Police Station that his two daughters, namely, one Retyit Licky, four-year-old, and one Loveth Nehemiah, eight-year-old, were playing in the house of one John Mahana, aged 63 years, of the same address.

“The said John Mahana deceived them and had unlawful carnal knowledge of the girls. On receipt of the complaint, the suspect was immediately arrested by the DPO, S.P. Agu Oliver C, and his team,” the CP stated.

“Both the suspect and the victims were taken to the Cottage Hospital for medical examination, where it was confirmed that the 4-year-old girl had an abrasion on her upper thigh and a blood-stained vulva with a turn hyphen, while there was proof of penetration in the 8-year-old.”

The police boss, however, said that the investigation is still ongoing.
