The maiden Congress of the Extraordinary League of Gentlemen (EXLG), an Abuja-based social and humanitarian club has been scheduled for Saturday 22nd of July, 2023.

The congress, which is the first of its kind, is scheduled to hold at the Urban Village by Terivik Park, Nile Street by Alvan Ikoku Maitama, Abuja.

A statement signed by the President of the club, Segun Akinyemi revealed that the maiden congress is expected to appraise the progress made so far, the welfare of members, as well as afford members to brainstorm on other avenues by which the club can grow beyond leaps and bounds.

“The purpose of the Congress is to cement the foundation of transparency as required by any club, we the executives, want to present our programmes and budget to the members for ratification and harmonisation”

“We have many programmes on the ground that will care for the needy and development of our society, we intend to implement some of the projects that will provide solutions to many students facing challenges in their academic pursuit”, he said.

In his part, the chairman of the club’s Board of Trustees (BOT), Lucas Durajaiye, who’s currently on a 5-days visit to the United Kingdom (U.K), promised to be available on Saturday for the congress.

Reiterating that “the club is ours”, Durajaiye (check out the spelling please) admonished members to strive towards engaging in everything that would make the club attain an enviable height to the admiration of members.

While encouraging members to be punctual as other issues of importance will be discussed, the duo noted that there is a need to improve on the ideas for social orientation and Humanitarian activities the club is known for members of the society.

The Congress is scheduled to kick start by 4 pm while members are expected to be on seat as early as 3:30 pm.
