Ogun Monarch Calls For Religious Tolerance Among Nigerians, Thanks Gov. Abiodun For His Welfarism
The Olu of Obafemi in Obafemi Owode Local Government area of Ogun State, Oba (Alh) Taofeeq Kayode Owolabi (Olu Adugan 1), Onijeun Egba have advocated for religious tolerance among Nigerians irrespective of their belief and ethical affiliations for peaceful coexistence.
Oba Owolabi stated this while speaking at a special prayer and Kumar to appreciate God and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the successful completion of this year’s hajj at Obafemi central mosque in Obafemi, Egba
According to the monarch, there might be little difference in the doctrine of Islam and Christianity, but both praying and worshipping the same God, hence, the need to tolerate one another for peaceful coexistence in the country.
He noted that religious sentiment has eaten deep into the society, which is not in the best interest of the country and a way forward for Nigerians.
He urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the peaceful coexistence, love and unity of the country, which has almost eluded the country due to personal and political gains.
While thanking Gov Dapo Abiodun for sponsoring him to the holy land, Oba Taofeeq Kayode Owolabi stated that Prince Dapo Abiodun remains one of the leaders in the country who do not discriminate against any individual on religious or tribal sentiments.
“Going for holy pilgrimage is one of the five pillars of Islam, the governor assisted some of us to observe this last pillar despite his religious lining,
I want to especially appreciate him for his enablement while giving special thanks to Almighty Allah for his benevolence.
The Olu of Obafemi appreciated all the Ogun Central Progressive Obas for their support and assured them that he will remain committed to the ideals of the group.
