Ogun local govt service commission organizes induction/orientation workshop for newly recruited unified staff
As part of its mandate of ensuring effective and efficient service delivery, the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission has trained newly recruited unified staff on the nitty-gritty of their mandate in the local government service of the State.

The workshop which took place at the “Crescent Muslim Professionals’ Hall” Leme, Abeokuta, saw about four hundred and fifteen (415) newly engaged professionals which include Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW), Medical Officers, Nursing Officers, Engineers and Legal Officers participating.
Addressing the newly recruited professionals, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Ms Olubukunola Onabanjo called for the dedication of the newly employed professionals.
In a statement signed by Bosun Ola Onabanjo, Head, Information Unit. Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, and reported by Adegboyega Oniyide, said a total of four hundred and fifteen (415) unified staff in Medical and Health, Engineering and Legal Officers cadres joined the Service to further strengthen the threshold of virile and dedicated workers, aimed at promoting effective and efficient service delivery at the grassroots.
While thanking the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun CON for the approval to engage the professionals, said the gesture will boost the morale of the workforce in the local governments.
She then exploited the opportunity to congratulate the newly recruited staff for being part of the lucky beneficiaries of the rare employment opportunity, adding that they have joined one of the best civil services in the comity of states.

That is why we have packaged an incisive programme that will avail you an insight into the service and equip and expose you to your expected roles, duties and responsibilities”. She however advised the participants to get themselves acquainted with the “Local Governments Handbook” containing the Unified Local Government Service Staff Regulations and Local Government Laws.
She thereafter charged them to establish good working relations with their superiors, colleagues and political officeholders.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Dr Adeolu Oluseun Olufowobi said that the training is part of the mandate of the Commission at ensuring that the newly recruited officers in the local government service are acquainted with the day-to-day running of their departments.
“Your name is written with pencils, if you do otherwise, the Commission will not hesitate to terminate your appointment”.
“We are still going to verify your certificates, if your certificate is not genuine, you will be kicked out of the service”.

“The administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON gave us the mandate to embark on the recruitment of unified staff, your appointment is free of charge, if you give money to anybody, do not hesitate to report such person to the Commission”.
