The singer announced Kuburat’s demise in a post on his Instagram page on Thursday evening.

The indigenous singer also accompanied the post with a picture he took with his mum.

He said he is speechless while praying that she “watches over me from heaven”.

“My jewel, I will miss you forever! Words fail me. Rest in power and peace, please watch over me from heaven,” Pasuma wrote.

Fans and colleagues have flooded the comment section to console Pasuma as words of his mum’s death spread.

The singer was born on November 27, 1967. He spent his childhood and a small part of his adulthood in Mushin, Lagos.

Adijat — popularly known as Iyawo Anobi — single-handedly raised Pasuma.

This was why he often praises her in his songs for being his biggest support system.

He attended the Muslim mission primary school in 1973, before moving to Model High School, where he completed his secondary school education.

He started off his music career when he was still in secondary school. While others would be participating in sports activities, Pasuma and some of his friends would be flexing their musical skills.
