Junior Chambers International, Abeokuta on Sunday performed the investiture of its 2023 President, JCI Amb. Olufemi Emmanuel Adeleke, with a charge to continue to impact positively on the society.

The ceremony which took place at the Park Inn, Abeokuta was part of the Annual Convention of JCI, Abeokuta, with the theme, ‘Envision 2030: Achieving A Society That Works’.

The gathering attracted major members of JCI within and outside Abeokuta and other stakeholders and professional bodies.

In his acceptance speech, tagged, ‘Strategic Move for Success (SMS)’, Adeleke said he is going to hing his administration on the last line of JCI creed, which is the service to humanity.

“Come 2023, with a strong team that we lay the foundation today, we will explore new possibilities for partnership, collaboration, and continue to advocate for a sustainable solution to community needs that will identify and bring us to the desirable success.

“Furthermore, we will strengthen the brotherhood, strive towards innovation
and break new grounds in a bid to collectively SMS our ideas and vision while delivering a professional JCI Abeokuta come 2023.

“Leadership must always come with action and this can always be better achieved through our collective efforts and contribution as a JCl family. Our key deliverables shall be better achieved through the SMART Analysis which are
Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Bound.

He assured that “with SMS, we will provide leadership that will create network opportunities to skill up
our members, so that they can make great community impact all encompassed with health and wellness.

The high-points of the event also witnessed the official oath-taking and signing of the Oaths of Office by the new President who also performed the appointment of new Board of Directors and swearing-in of other appointed executive officers of JCI, Abeokuta for the year 2023.

In her welcome address, Convention Chairperson, JC Olamide Olurin, opined that several significant benefits
have been accrued to Nigeria with the establishment and contributions of non-profit organizations.

She said “JCI has been one of the most reflective and distinct groups within this sector. Our activities have impacted
most positively on the fortunes of our dear country- Nigeria.

“JCI Abeokuta has continued to be at the forefront of all activities to ensure that our State’s appellation as ‘The Gateway’ is maintained, while we are committed to
creating an impact in our community.

In his speech, 2022 President, Raufu Damilare Olalekan enumerated some achievements of the Organisation for year 2022 which include, “the I Care
Project that focused on Mental Health Awareness and powering Small-Scale Businesses in partnership with the Ogun State Hospital Management Board and the Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.

“This project won the Best Community Impact program at the JCI Nigeria Southern Conference tagged EDOISIAGBON.

He said JCI Abeokuta in year 2022 continue to collaborate with the Police Community Relations Committee- PCRC (Ogun State Command) and Rotary International by engaging “the community development association CDAs to educate and be enlightened on the recent security consciousness and more”.

“This year, the Mid-year retreat International trip was achieved in the city of Cotonou, Benin Republic and I must
say the responses and participation from our Past Presidents, Leaders, and Members were encouraging
which pathway to focus on the next international trip in the coming year.

Several speakers were invited to speak on the theme of the convention.
They include Dr Angel Adelaja, Mr Oluwarotimi Akinrinade Adewole, the Chief Executive Officer/ Managing Director of Sam-Vic Insurance Brokers Limited.
