Davido performed at the closing ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The 22nd edition of the football tournament kicked off on November 20, with 32 countries battling for the cup.

At the beginning of the ceremony that precedes the final match of the competition, Davido performed.

The singer was joined by Trinidad Cardona, the US musician, and Aisha, the Japanese R&B singer.

The trio delivered a soulful rendition of ‘Hayya Hayya’, the official soundtrack for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

As they performed, fans could be seen excitedly clapping hands and singing along.

Davido’s influence has increasingly grown in the music space in the over 10-year span of his music career.

Between 2013 and 2015, he released a number of hits, and in January 2016, signed a record deal with Sony Music.

He then founded the label DMW to which acts like Dremo, Mayorkun, and Peruzzi have been signed.

Davido, so far, has three albums to his name, the last of which was ‘A Better Time’ released in 2020.

Last March, Davido was featured on ‘Hayya Hayya’, the first single of the multi-song FIFA World Cup soundtrack.
