‘He’s singing with the angels’ — family speaks on Sammie Okposo’s death

The bereaved family of Sammie Okposo has spoken up on the gospel singer’s sudden death.

Okposo passed away in Lagos on Friday, with associates of the musician revealing he slumped to his death.

In a statement, Hector Okposo, a member of the bereaved family, said burial arrangements will be revealed soon.

Hector, while mourning the deceased, said the singer “slept” and is now “singing with angels”.

“It is with a heavy heart but with total submission to God that I announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, minister of God, Sammie Okposo,” Hector’s statement read.

“Sammie slept and went to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, November 25, 2022.

“More details about the burial will be communicated soon.

“We are consoled because we know that he is with Jesus singing with angels.

“We kindly request that the family is allowed to grieve peacefully at this time.”

Family’s statement after death of Sammie Okposo
After coming to the limelight for his music, Sammie Okposo established himself as an international gospel artiste.

He was also a music producer, psalmist, and CEO of Zamar Entertainment.

The singer released his first album ‘Addicted’ in 2004.

He collaborated with many other artistes in the gospel and soul genres.
Okposo’s most recent album ‘The Statement’ (2018) was produced by the Grammy-winning Kevin Bond.
