A banker is seeking dissolution of her marriage after her husband squandered the house rent she saved up.

 

Mrs Justine Ojo, on Monday, Nov. 14, dragged her husband Eneku before a Customary Court in Jikwoyi Abuja.

Justine, who resides in Nyanya, Abuja, said she and her husband had been living in her husband’s brother’s house since they got married.

Over time, she saved up money and gave her husband to get them accommodation of their own for one year.

 

However, six months after they moved into their house, the landlord gave them quit notice and she soon discovered her husband only paid for 6 months’ rent.

 

When she confronted her husband, she claims he beat her up and would have killed her if she had not scaled the fence at night to escape.

She says she has been the only one providing since they got married as her husband has no job.

She prayed the court to dissolve the marriage and grant her custody of their child.

 

The respondent, Eneku denied the allegation.

 

The judge, Malam Labaran Gusau, adjourned the matter until November 16, for a hearing.
