It was a joyous moment as friends, family, and well-wishers gathered at the residence of Hon. Damini Nathan, the All Progressives Congress (APC) woman leader for Ogbia Local Government Area in Bayelsa State, to celebrate her on the occasion of her birthday.
The birthday celebration, which took place at the celebrant’s residence in Opolo, Yenagoa, on Friday, 20th March 2026, saw dignitaries from all walks of life in attendance, with lots of fun and music supplied by a DJ.
Extolling the virtues of the celebrant, the Ogbia Local Government Area Council Chairman, Hon. Golden Jeremiah, described Mrs. Nathan as a woman with an impeccable character who has the charisma to deliver whatever tasks given to her.
According to the Local Government Boss, they both attended the same secondary school and he will not soon forget the vital roles she played while they were in secondary school.
Jeremiah also said she’s a woman of many qualities and that as the woman leader in Ogbia, her ability to lead, coordinate, and organise women in the local government is unprecedented, hence he called on women to emulate her leadership style.
In her remarks, the immediate past APC woman leader for Nembe Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Favour Ayakpo, said due to her personality and qualities, women from across all the Local Governments in the state came to celebrate her.
Mrs. Ayakpo, who was elated and could not hide her joy, wished her a long life in good health and riches. She quoted the word of God, saying that God will satisfy her with long life for her to eat the fruit of her labour.
She added that ” She’s a good woman and a woman with the heart of gold, so she deserves more than this, she’s the only woman that can took care of women at large and the one that can truly understands women in Ogbia LGA that’s why you can see everybody is happy right now.”
The former Nembe APC woman leader appealed to the celebrant to continue doing good and not to relent, saying that she’s not surprised why she’s been returned as the only woman leader serving her second tenure.
The celebrant, Mrs. Damini Nathan, who was overwhelmed, said considering her busy schedule, she didn’t want to celebrate, but was perplexed after she woke up to see the crowd that had come to celebrate her.
She thanked God for keeping her alive to mark another birthday, and her well-wishers for the massive turnout, which she said shows how she’s loved by men, women, and youth, promising not to stop being the good person she is.
According to her, the opportunity given her to lead Ogbia women again was due to her track record in her first tenure, where she ensured Ogbia women weren’t treated as second-class citizens.
