The Ogun State Working Committee and Chairmen of the 20 local government areas of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the State have passed a vote of confidence on the party’s State Chairman, Dr. Femi Soluade, affirming their trust in his leadership.

The endorsement was made during a strategic meeting held at the party’s state secretariat in Ake, Abeokuta, where local government chairmen and members of the state working committee gathered in what observers described as a strong display of unity.

Th meeting brought together party leaders from across the 20 local government areas, all of whom unanimously expressed satisfaction with the direction of the party under Soluade’s stewardship.

Salient Times reports that the Leadership of African Democratic Congress ADC Southwest has earlier passed votes of confidence on Soluade saying that there wasn’t anytime the Chairman of African Democratic Congress ADC Ogun State chapter Otunba Dr Femi Soluade was suspended.

Also speaking on Sunday on behalf of the chairmen, some of the party leaders commended Soluade for what they described as his tireless commitment to strengthening party structures and repositioning the ADC for greater electoral success in the state.

They noted that since assuming office, the state chairman had demonstrated dedication, inclusiveness and a clear vision for expanding the party’s grassroots presence.

According to the chairmen, Soluade’s leadership style has enhanced coordination between the state executive and local government structures, fostering internal cohesion and reducing factional tendencies.

They further stated that the vote of confidence was not only symbolic but a reaffirmation of their collective resolve to work harmoniously with the state leadership.

The chairmen urged Soluade to remain steadfast and focused, assuring him of their continuous cooperation and loyalty as the party consolidates its position in Ogun’s political landscape.

Responding, Dr. Soluade expressed gratitude for what he described as a humbling show of solidarity and trust from the party’s grassroots leaders.

He said the endorsement would serve as added motivation for him and members of the state working committee to redouble their efforts in strengthening the party’s structures across all wards and local governments.

Soluade reiterated his commitment to transparency, accountability and participatory leadership, stressing that unity remains the bedrock of any successful political movement.

He assured the local government chairmen that his administration would continue to prioritise collaboration and open communication in addressing internal challenges.

The state chairman emphasized the need for sustained mobilisation and engagement as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the ADC must present itself as a credible alternative capable of offering purposeful leadership and good governance to the people of Ogun State.
He called on party members at all levels to close ranks and avoid actions capable of undermining the collective interest of the party.

Soluade also charged the local government executives to intensify grassroots outreach, membership drives and political education to deepen the party’s visibility.

The chairmen, in their separate remarks, expressed optimism that under Soluade’s guidance, the ADC would continue to grow in strength and relevance.

They maintained that unity within the party would translate into electoral gains, especially as political activities gradually build up towards 2027.

The meeting ended with a renewed pledge by the local government chairmen and state working committee members to work hand-in-hand for the growth and success of the ADC in Ogun State.

Political observers say the endorsement signals an attempt by the party to project stability and internal cohesion as parties in the state begin early alignments ahead of the next election cycle.
