Man flees after macheting wife over alleged infidelity in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for one Abodunde Solomon who is currently on the run after he used a machete to inflict life-threatening injuries on his wife over alleged infidelity.

The incident occurred at Supare-Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government area of the state.

According to reports, the man assaulted his wife after accusing her of being unfaithful. The allegation of infidelity infuriated the husband.

“Blood was gushing from the woman’s body after the attack. After committing the act, the suspect fled the scene.

They already have children who are in secondary school,” the source told Ondo State Govt owned publication, Hope Newspaper.

The spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Jimoh Kazeem, confirmed the incident.

“It was a case of domestic violence and grievous harm reported to the police. The suspect, Abodunde Solomon, who is the victim’s husband and is currently at large, allegedly macheted the victim with a cutlass, causing injuries,” the PPRO said.

“The victim has been taken to the hospital for medical attention, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect.

“The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal advised the good people of Ondo State to shun all forms of violence and embrace peace, as violence comes with grave consequences.”
