Prof. Asikhia delivered the keynote address at Crawford University, Igbesa, Ogun State, during an event attended by academics, policymakers and industry stakeholders.

The lecture, titled “Navigating and Unlocking the Economic Potential in an Unstable Economy: A Framework for Survival, Sustainability, and Scrutiny,” examined how organisations can respond strategically to complex global economic disruptions.

In his presentation, the Vice Chancellor argued that organisational performance in unstable economic environments is largely determined by deliberate, measurable and context-specific strategies rather than chance.

He described the present global landscape as a “new abnormal,” shaped by overlapping geopolitical, financial, technological and climate-related pressures, noting that such forces require scientific analysis rather than instinctive responses.

Prof. Asikhia introduced an integrated analytical model which presents economic instability as a moderating force whose type and intensity influence the effectiveness of corporate strategies.

According to him, corporate decisions relating to pricing, innovation, supply chains and risk management must reflect the specific nature of disruptions facing organisations.

He identified operational resilience as the foundation of organisational survival, highlighting financial antifragility, strategic liquidity management and supply chain diversification as critical safeguards during periods of crisis.

The framework also emphasises adaptive innovation, organisational agility and stakeholder-focused sustainability as pathways to long-term competitiveness and growth.

Prof. Asikhia further outlined a research-based approach, proposing testable hypotheses to evaluate how resilience and growth strategies influence outcomes such as profitability, market expansion and long-term sustainability.

He noted that the model integrates resilience and growth into a single analytical structure, underscoring the importance of evidence-driven decision-making in corporate governance and public policy.

Participants at the event described the presentation as a strong blend of theory and practice, noting its potential value for organisational leaders and policy formulators.

In a statement, the Information, Media and Publication Specialist at Caleb University, Mr. Olawale Adekoya, said the presentation reflects the institution’s commitment to research that addresses real-world economic and governance challenges.

Adekoya noted that the Vice Chancellor’s scholarship continues to position the university as an emerging voice in evidence-based research and policy-relevant academic discourse.

Prof. Asikhia has, over the years, delivered lectures across Nigeria and internationally on management, strategy and economic transformation.

Observers say his increasing global engagements reflect growing recognition of his academic contributions and research impact.

The keynote presentation according to a statement signed by Olawale Adekoya, Information and Media Specialist, is also seen as reinforcing Caleb University’s profile in policy-oriented scholarship and research-driven knowledge production.

The university’s management noted that the framework aligns with its broader vision of producing knowledge that supports economic resilience and sustainable development.
