The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff and students, invited stakeholders, alumni, parents and the general public to the ceremony, scheduled to hold from Friday, January 23 to Saturday, January 31, 2026.

According to the programme, the week-long activities will commence on Friday, January 23, with a Jumat Service at the University Mosque by 1:00 p.m.

This will be followed on Sunday, January 25, by an interdenominational service at the Chapel of Grace, FUNAAB, by 10:00 a.m.

A press conference has also been scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, at the Red Chamber, starting at 10:00 a.m., as part of activities marking the convocation.

On Friday, January 30, the University will commission several projects across designated locations on campus by 10:00 a.m., while the Convocation Lecture will hold later the same day at the Red Chamber by 3:00 p.m.

The ceremony will climax on Saturday, January 31, with the main convocation event, featuring the award of first and higher degrees, postgraduate diplomas and presentation of prizes to deserving graduands. The event is slated for 10:00 a.m. at the Professor Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building.

A major highlight of the convocation is the lecture titled “Integrating Agriculture and Youth Development: A New Paradigm for the Nigerian Education System.”

The lecture will be delivered by the Chairman of Access Holdings Plc, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR, a renowned investor, banker and philanthropist.

Aig-Imoukhuede, who served as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc between 2002 and 2013, is credited with transforming the institution into one of Nigeria’s leading financial services groups.

Widely respected for his contributions to corporate governance, economic reform and philanthropy, the Access Holdings chairman is expected to offer insights on agriculture-driven education and youth empowerment as tools for sustainable national development.

The University said the lecture aligns with FUNAAB’s mandate of producing globally competitive graduates equipped to drive innovation, entrepreneurship and socio-economic transformation.
