President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf.

The meeting is taking place in the President’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Kano governor, dressed in white agbada and red cap, entered the Presidential Villa at about 4:10 pm.

This comes amid rumours of Yusuf’s planned defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

However, there are reports that negotiations have stalled over whether or not to give the governor automatic 2027 ticket on the APC platform.

Yusuf’s planned defection has been in the news for weeks, causing disaffection between supporters of the governor and his political godfather, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The meeting with President Tinubu might not be unconnected with the planned defection.
