Catholic Priest slumps, dies on New Year day in Delta

Tragedy struck on new year day in Agbor, Delta state following the death of a Catholic Church Priest while delivering a homily.

Report from the area said the priest, Rev. Steve Chukwuma, of St Joseph Catholic Church had slumped from the pulpit.

Eyewitness account said the 63 year old clergy was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was certified dead.

Parishioners described him as cheerful, caring and passionate about people and their wellbeing.

Meanwhile the state police public relations officer SP Bright Edafe could not confirm the story when contacted on Friday, saying ” they may not have reported the matter to the police.”
