The Action Democratic Party (ADP) Ogun State, has said it welcomes all well meaning Nigerians and notable politicians like Otunba Segun Sowunmi to its fold as the Party strategies to reposition itself for 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued by the party leadership, ADP said the Party will welcome all well meaning Nigerians to its fold and it’s ready to contest all elective positions in the general elections.
According to the party, ADP will organize transparent primaries for all elective positions saying that no individual has been selected or adopted as its flagbearer ahead of the 2027 polls, and the circulated claims of adopting a particular candidate do not emanate from the recognised organs of the party.
“These reports are not true and do not represent the position of the Action Democratic Party (ADP). The public is advised to disregard them,” the statement read.
ADP reaffirmed that its political structure remains open to all credible aspirants. It welcomed Sowunmi—as well as other Ogun politicians—who wish to pursue elective offices under the party’s platform.
The party stressed that its nomination process will be transparent, inclusive, and guided by internal democratic principles.
“Our stakeholders across Ogun State and the nation remain committed to a holistic and inclusive political process. We are open to accommodating all genuine aspirants as we embark on this robust political journey,” the party stated.
The release also praised the commitment of its national leadership, noting that their vision continues to steer the party toward stability, growth, and credible electoral participation.
ADP emphasized that unity, discipline, and clarity of communication are essential as the party prepares for future political engagements.
“We urge members, supporters, and the public to avoid unfounded rumours capable of distracting from our shared objectives.
ADP remains focused on good governance and a better political future for Nigerians,” the statement added.
The party concluded by thanking its members and supporters for their loyalty, expressing confidence that unified efforts will strengthen its chances in upcoming elections.
